How it all started...
Crestview Community Church, also known as C3, has an inspiring history that began in 1956. A small group of devoted followers envisioned building a church community that would spread the teachings of Jesus Christ in Lafayette and West Lafayette. They started in Pastor George Cripe's basement at 2416 Lafayette Drive, and in 1958, Crestview secured its first building at 2417 South Ninth Street.
Under the leadership of Pastor Kent Maxwell, Crestview continued to grow steadily but soon outgrew its facility on 9th Street. In response, Crestview made a bold move in 1971—purchasing 14 acres of property at 1400 Ortman Lane and selling its original building to raise money. While creating plans for their permanent structure, Crestview met at Central Catholic High School. On February 3, 1974, Crestview held a groundbreaking ceremony, and on February 2, 1975, it had its first worship service in its new facility.

Expanding the vision...
2013 was a year of notable change for Crestview. The Board of Elders made a historic decision to become a non-denominational church and changed the name to Crestview Community Church. They also launched an all-out effort to make evangelism and missions the centerpiece of church life. From that effort, C3 has grown from a church of 125 individuals in 2013 to over 500 in regular weekly attendance.
2018 was a year of unprecedented changes and challenges for C3. Due to the church's rapid growth, the leadership team launched the One-Giant-Leap building campaign, raising over two million dollars. The people's generosity allowed the church to upgrade the sanctuary, remodel meeting spaces, and provide much-needed parking.

Where we are headed...
In 2024, C3 witnessed its most significant increase in new members, commitments to Jesus Christ, and water baptisms. C3 also experienced its largest missions and outreach budget in its history!
God has been truly faithful to the C3 family, and we are grateful for the many pioneers who trusted in a known God despite the unknown future. Moving forward, C3 is once again preparing to expand facilities to meet the needs of a growing church community. More important than buildings, C3 is committed to giving everyone in Tippecanoe County the best opportunity to become fully developed followers of Jesus Christ!
Praise God, the story continues!
