Water Baptism

WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Water Baptism is the outward demonstration of your in-heart decision to follow Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes the death of an old sinful life and being raised to a new life in Christ. In Romans 6:4 we are taught that in the same way Jesus died and was buried, our old way of life is put to death and buried with Him as we are submerged underwater. Then, like Christ, we come out of the water to new life and a new way of living just as Jesus resurrected to new life on the third day.  Please use the following link to indicate your interest in being water-baptized at Crestview. https://churchteams.com/m/Register.asp?a=UHhyUmRtckIvZzQ9

Below are a few important resources for parents who are considering whether or not to allow their children to participate in water baptism.

Parents of young children: please download the Baptism 101 PDF for help in guiding your child’s understanding of water baptism. Baptism 101 Doc

Discover your S.H.A.P.E. for ministry

Each of us is uniquely created by God and gifted by the Holy Spirit for ministry. At C3 we want to help you discover your S.H.A.P.E. and then help you connect with opportunities to be involved in the ministries and mission of C3.

SHAPE is an acronym associated with five different areas of your life that are important to explore as you move toward joining ministry teams that serve the church and community.

S = SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Spiritual gifts are special abilities distributed by the Holy Spirit to every believer according to God’s design and grace for the common good of the body of Christ.

H = HEART
What do you love to do? This section of your SHAPE discovery dives into your passions. In your heart are God-given desires that compel you to make a difference in a particular ministry. The fact that each of us cares deeply about certain things more than others is by God’s design.

A = ABILITIES
What are your natural talents and abilities? What training, skills, and/or education do you have? We want to help you see how you can use these abilities to do ministry and bring glory to God.

P = PERSONALITY
Better understanding your perspective, how you interact with others, and how you interact with the world around you can help you find your place and function in ministry. Knowing more about your own personality can help you discover the roles that are right for you to fulfill in the ministries here at C3.

E = EXPERIENCE
God can use your life experiences for His purposes. What experiences do you have that have molded you into who you are today?  God can use both the good and the bad experience of your life as you serve in ministries to others

Where to take the online S.H.A.P.E. assessment:

The online SHAPE assessment can be found at https://www.freeshapetest.com. The assessment takes about 30 minutes and must be completed in one sitting. When entering your contact information at the end of the assessment, you have the option to send your results to a church leader (use SHAPE@C3lafayette.org for that field). Once we receive your SHAPE assessment results we will follow up with you to discuss the results and help you find your place of service best fit you.

Infant & Child Dedication

A Child Dedication service is an opportunity for parents to publicly declare their intent to raise their child in a way that honors God and build a family environment where children will grow in their knowledge and experience of the Lord.  In many ways, a “child dedication” service is truly a “parent commissioning” service, as parents publicly declare to raise their child in the faith until the child is old enough to make his own personal confession of Christ. It’s also a time for family, friends, and the church body here at C3 to say we will partner with you, as best we can, to see that this takes place.
